We have been very slow to want to let go of this
piece. We have had this for many , many years. As you will read
in Ryan's description (following) this was really the start of
Ryan wanting to communicate with his art. It still inspires us
and now we offer it to find a new home where it will inspire someone
else.

"My Mandala"
There are many mandalas and symbolic tools for meditation spread
across many religious and philosophical perspectives. I wished
here to create one for my self from my self. I wanted to create
a personal tool for balancing and centering.
In my minds eye I saw a ancient stone board made with black and
white marble. To the side of the board was a brass spiral with
a crossbar at it's center. I picked it up and held it over the
center of the stone board and watched as it opened up to reveal
an akashic event. A great eye, a planetary alignment and the point
of conception all in one image. Sperm like symbols traveled to
and from the image organizing themselves in an alternating pattern
of black and white, positive and negative.
I use this image to clear my mind and further understand were
I find myself in this life. First I start with the fifth stone
from the left bottom. Upon it is a black sperm like symbol. It
travels away from the center and symbolizes something I would
like to go away. I use this to represent something going on in
my life that I would say is negative. I look to my emotions and
define were I'm unhappy. For example I'm working to much and feel
stressed. Now I hold on to that and move to the right to the next
stone. Here a white sperm like symbol moves toward the center
and represents the positive opposite of the last negative. Example
I love what I do for a job and it really is rewarding. By the
simple movement of alternating thought from negative to positive
and defining these things to myself I have neutralized the first
negative and seen things a little more as they truly are. I'll
continue then around to the right, up , over, down and back to
the center stone, defining as I go those things upon my mind and
heart. At last I end the exercise up on a positive.
Now by the time I've traveled around this introspective tool I
have had to do a lot of self searching. My emotional state is
at rest and my mind is clear. I then follow the spiral, the journey
of all perspectives to a center balanced point. I'll breath deeply
here and contemplate the macro and microcosm. I'll solidify what
I have learned about my life and meditate upon how to better intend
it from here. I walk away up to speed, balanced and centered.
